You’ll be in charge of survey crews, making sure that exact construction stakeout is done, and gathering and analyzing important data while putting safety first. Responsibilities for Survey Party Chief Jobs in USA:

Leadership & Management

• Manage survey teams and keep an eye on all survey activities that happen on-site.
• Assign daily jobs, keep an eye on how they’re done, and make sure safety rules are followed.
• Help field heads and senior surveyors get better at their jobs by mentoring them.

Technical Surveying

• Set up horizontal and vertical control networks for the whole project.
• Watch over the marking out of foundations, support bolts, utilities, buildings, roads, and structures.
• Do walks, GNSS, robotic total stations, and level loops with high accuracy.

CAD & Data Management

• Handle data from the field and make correct CAD models and drawings.
• Take care of digital outputs like control drawings, as-builts, and 3D surfaces.
• Work with the engineering and BIM/CAD teams to make sure that the data merging goes smoothly.

Planning & Coordination

• Make plans for how to carry out the survey, when to hire staff, and how to use the tools.
• Work together with subcontractors, building managers, and engineers.
• Arrange for subcontracted survey services to be used for third-party checks.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Do quality checks and audits on survey work on a frequent basis.
• Make sure that the rules and guidelines for site safety are followed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Getting a degree in engineering or construction management.
• Licensed Professional Surveyor (PLS/RLS) or a state license that is the same or similar.
• Knowing how to use AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, or BIM tools well.
• Know how to use machine control systems, 3D laser scanning, UAV/drone surveys, and tracking systems.
• Before, you managed surveys for big industrial, power, refinery, or heavy building projects (more than $500M).
• Strong ability to solve problems and communicate clearly with people from different departments.

Minimum Requirements:

• 8 or more years as a Superintendent or Construction Manager on jobs like this.
• 15 or more years of experience in surveys, with at least 5 years as a boss.
• Valid license to drive.
• With an OSHA 10 rating.
• Being able to pass a police check, a drug test, and a check of your driving record before starting work.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• You can carry things that weigh up to 50 pounds.
• You have to stand, sit, bend, stoop, and walk long distances on rough ground.
• Use steel frames, ladders, and platforms to work above 5 feet.
• Working up to 12-hour shifts in hot, cold, and rainy weather is normal.
• Sound, dangerous tools, dim or bright lighting, and small areas can all be harmful.
